After an in depth interview process for the new role of Competitions Supervisor, we would like to welcome John Fenwick to the North Gold Coast Seahawks staff.
Fenwick is no stranger to Basketball Queensland, as he currently holds the role of Basketball Referee Supervisor with Townsville Basketball.
He has experience and knowledge of not just basketball, but as being a referee through State and National Junior tournaments. John currently referees NBL1 games within Queensland.
Fenwick also hosts referee information sessions in Townsville to help create pathways for the junior referees who are wanting to elevate to senior levels.
General Manager for the North Gold Coast Seahawks, Dwayne Vale, is excited to have Fenwick on board.
“John interviewed fantastically and from the outset it was clear he was not only exceptionally capable in the competitions space, but also added an over and above component in his ability to train, educate and accredit referees” said Vale.
“Shorty was huge for our association in the space of referee education, and to be able to replace him with someone of John’s capabilities is incredibly exciting for the association”
