North Gold Coast Seahawks are proud to announce their 2022 Queensland State League coaches for their Division 1 women's and men's teams as Robert Sleaford and Marko Savic.
Robert Sleaford returns to our senior coaching ranks after a few season's away. He previously led our QBL women, and prior to that our very successful SBL program, where he won championships in 2014, 2016 and 2017. Upon the women stepping up to the QBL in 2018 he guided them to a finals appearance in their first season at the top tier. Having also coached multiple Queensland South State teams, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.
Marko Savic takes the lead of our QSL1 men in 2022 after leading the QSL2 men to the finals in 2021. The aspiring career coach has been busily gathering as much experience as possible in recent years. He is just coming off a 4th place position with the U18 Boys Teal team at their recent State Championships in what was the Cinderella story of the tournament after a challenging SQJBC campaign. He has also spent time on the bench for the New Zealand men's team under the guidance of Pero Cameron for a leg of their FIBA Asia Cup Qualifying.
The men's and women's NBL1 and QSL1 trials are coming up soon at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday 12th & 19th February. We look forward to hitting the hardwood and would encourage anyone looking to elevate their game to attend.
