The North Gold Coast Seahawks are proud to announce the appointment of Adam Todd-Thomas as our new Basketball Development Manager, and Mark Nawfal to a newly created role of Coaching Development Officer.

Originally, our recruitment process was focused solely on appointing a new Basketball Development Manager. However, with the exceptional calibre of candidates who applied and our growing commitment to investing in the development of both our players and coaches, we seized the opportunity to expand our team. This led to the creation of the new Coaching Development Officer role — a move we’re confident will further enhance the quality and consistency of coaching across our programs.

Adam Todd-Thomas – Basketball Development Manager

Joining the Seahawks from the United States, Adam Todd-Thomas returns home to South East Queensland, bringing with him a decade of experience as both a player and coach in American college basketball. After beginning his journey in the US as a college athlete, Adam transitioned into collegiate coaching, where he developed a deep understanding of athlete development and program management.

As Basketball Development Manager, Adam will oversee our entire representative program, with a particular emphasis on building out our girls basketball pathway — from entry-level through to the representative level. His international experience and player-first mindset make him a tremendous asset to our club and the broader basketball community.

Mark Nawfal – Coaching Development Officer

A familiar face to many in the Seahawks community, Mark Nawfal steps into this new role after serving as the QSL Youth League Men’s Head Coach in both 2024 and 2025. His impact on the court was undeniable, earning him recognition as the QSL Youth League Men’s 1 Coach of the Year in 2024.

Mark brings with him a wealth of coaching experience from Europe, as well as a strong background in the school sport system here in Australia. In his new role, Mark will lead education programs for coaches across both our representative and domestic basketball pathways. He’ll also take a hands-on approach, working closely with our Junior Seahawks teams to support and mentor coaches in real-time, on-court environments.

Jordan McKenzie – Community & Player Development Officer

While we welcome Adam and Mark to the Seahawks, we also want to take a moment to recognise the outstanding contribution of Jordan McKenzie, who has been holding down the fort in the Basketball Department throughout the recruitment process.

Jordan has made a real impact on the floor — not only in our community programs, but also across Take Flight, the Seahawks Elite Basketball Academy (SEBA), Prep for Rep, and Junior Seahawks trials. His passion, energy, and consistency have been instrumental in maintaining momentum across these key development programs.

In recognition of his continued value to the organisation, Jordan’s role has been updated to Community & Player Development Officer, allowing him to focus on strengthening grassroots engagement while continuing to play a vital role in individual player growth and pathway alignment.

We’re excited about the future of Seahawks Basketball with Adam, Mark, and Jordan working together to elevate our programs. Their combined knowledge, experience, and dedication will ensure that our players and coaches are well supported — from the first dribble to the elite level.
