Seahawks & Basketball Queensland Supporting Flood Appeal

North Gold Coast Seahawks President, Ben McGrath, had the great pleasure of presenting to the Minister for Sport, Stirling Hinchliffe MP, a cheque for over six and a half thousand dollars to go towards the Queensland Premiers Flood Appeal.

Making a statement on the donation, McGrath goes on "In conjunction with Basketball Queensland a dollar from every ticket sold to spectate at the recent U16 Boys State Championships hosted by North Gold Coast Seahawks was to be donated to support those charities assisting those affected by the recent floods and today we are pleased to present the outcome of this. We have as a board split these funds to be donated across St Vincent’s and the Salvation Army."

"Whilst we are a few weeks on from the events that occurred the rebuild for many will take far longer and we’re sure these funds will continue to assist those in need through these great charitable organisations."

“There’s a great tradition of the basketball community supporting people who have been impacted from events like the floods”, said Minister for Sport, Stirling Hinchliffe MP.

“The weather events of early 2022 impacted so many people in Queensland. This support will be very welcome.”
