The North Gold Coast Seahawks are pleased to announce that Carly Remmos has signed with the club for NBL1 North 2023 after a stint away from basketball playing AFLW with the Geelong Cats.
The highly touted junior was the 39th pick in the 2020 AFLW draft after having been part of the Geelong Supercats SEABL (now NBL1 South) squad which she cracked in to at only 15 years of age.
Coach Brad Kann is excited to have her part of his group this year. “Carly brings athleticism and a high level of competitiveness, which will allow us to set the tone at the defensive end of the floor”.
The Gold Coast lifestyle and a new adventure was a huge pull for Remmos’ move north, along with family with her brother on the Coast already.
The transition back to the hardwood has been smooth for the guard, “It’s been awesome getting back to playing basketball. I’ve missed the technical part of the game so it’s great to get back playing at a high level.”
The group is well into their pre-season preparation and Remmos has fit in well with the group. “The girls are all amazing and I can’t wait to start the season with them all”.
The team will hit the court at the pre-season Blitz being held at the Northside Indoor Sports Centre from March 10-12 before opening their season at home on March 25 against cross-town rivals Gold Coast at the Nest.
