QSL1 Preview - Seahawks vs Gold Coast

With the first home derby of the season, the SmartSkill Seahawks Women and Seahawks Men’s team take on Gold Coast this Saturday at Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium.

With a perfect record on the line for both teams, Saturday’s match ups will be worth the gold coin donation to attend.

Seahawks General Manager, Dwayne Vale, expects a big crowd to turn up. ‘Seahawk nation will be out in full flight this Saturday, as we typically outnumber Gold Coast fans at their home venue. We look to take back the title in the battle of the Gold Coast’’

“We know we have a super talented women’s and men’s program, with each team boasting NBL, College and state league experience so I would expect, with the young groups Gold Coast is putting on the floor, that our experience will outshine their youth”

Gold Coast General Manager, Joel McInnes, is looking forward to the rivalry, ‘” There’s been some classic games over the last few years, with the Seahawks playing above their weight in the local derby. This year I expect Gold Coast to take care of business… like last year”

If the games are anything like the heated rivalry between the two association’s General Managers, we could see two firecracker contests - which could set up each team’s season.

Tip off for the Women’s game is 5:30pm, with the Men tipping off at 7:30pm.
