QSL Women Player Announcement – Courtney Willemse

Brad Kann has been looking far and wide for his team this offseason, hitting Melbourne and securing point guard Courtney Willemse for season 2021.

Willemse has represented her junior club, Diamond Valley Eagles, and also represented Victoria Metro at the Under 16 & 18 National championships, and was also a National Championship winner in 2017.

Coming off an ACL injury in 2018, Willemse is excited to get to work once she arrives on the Gold Coast.

“I am super excited for this opportunity and new adventure with the North Gold Coast Seahawks” said Willemse.

“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get back into some competition”

Coach Kann was pumped to have locked in Willemse for 2021.

“Courtney has had an outstanding junior career to date, and we are ecstatic to help her progress into her senior career here at the North Gold Coast Seahawks” said Kann

“With her experience and success at the junior level, particularly at her playing position of point guard, we believe her transition into senior basketball will be of benefit to both us and Courtney”

“Courtney is the quintessential Basketball player; she will buy in on the floor but has already committed to supporting our Swooper Hoopers program as a coach immediately”

“We can’t wait to get her here late March”
