QSL Saturday 12th September @ South West Metro Pirates

The SmartSkill Seahawks Women’s team will be back to full strength this Saturday night against the South West Pirates at Hibiscus stadium.


With the return of Emily Allen, Stephanie Newbold and Olivia Dijikstra, Head Coach Paula Jansen has high expectations of her team heading into this weekend’s game.

“We really missed those 3 (Allen, Newbold and Dijikstra) on Saturday night, with their size, play making abilities and experience” said Jansen

“We need to string a few wins together to keep ourselves in playoff contention and it needs to start Saturday night vs Pirates”

The SmartSkill Seahawks Women’s team currently in 10th spot on 2 wins / 4 losses with the Pirates Women’s close behind in 11th on 1 win /6 losses.

Seahawks Men’s team will be hunting for their first win of the season against the star-studded Pirates team.

After coming off their most promising game of the season, coach Brad Kann wants his troops to stay focused on the process.

“Success looks different for each team – we are measuring our success this season overall player development on both ends of the floor, ensuring ourselves for team success for seasons to come” said Kann.


“South West have a lot of experience, with Tanner Krebs being out of the highly credentialled Saint Mary's College program and now with the Brisbane Bullets, Matt Hodgson (current Brisbane Bullet) and Mathiang Muo (Perth Wildcats)”

Tip off for the SmartSkill Seahawks Women’s team is 6:30pm / Men’s team is 8:30pm.
