QSL RECAP | Round 6 & South West Metro Pirates

The SmartSkill Seahawks Women’s hit the winners circle on Saturday, with a convincing 65-50 win over the South West Pirates.

Bolstered by the return of superstar Emily Allen who finished the game with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, the SmartSkill Seahawks were in control of the game from start to finish.

“Em had her best scoring game of the season on Saturday night, she really kept the scoreboard ticking over when we needed it” said head coach Paula Jansen.

“Lauren Jansen also had a complete game as well, contributing all over the floor offensively and defensively”

The Head Coach was automatically focused on this coming Saturdays match up against the league leading Logan Thunder.

“This week we will need to really lock in and be ready to go against this Thunder team” said Jansen.

Head Coach for the Seahawks Men’s QSL team Brad Kann took some positives out of their loss 90-46 loss against the Pirates on Saturday night.

“We probably had our best first half of the year” said Kann.

“We went into the main break only down 15-17 points with some real positives coming at both ends of the floor”

“The final result obviously blew out but if we continue to string together consecutive quarters, we will continue to see improvement in our group”

The SmartSkill Seahawks Women and Men’s team play this Saturday night against the Logan Thunder at the Nest, with the Women tipping off at 5:30pm and the Men at 7:30pm.

A live feed will be put onto the North Gold Coast Seahawks Facebook page.
