Player Announcement – Jordan Hunter

The North Gold Coast Seahawks Men’s NBL1 team receive a massive boost, with the signing of NBL big man, and current Sydney King, Jordan Hunter for season 2022.

Hunter, the 209cm centre, has sat out of NBL22 after sustaining a navicular fracture in his foot during his breakout season in NBL 20-21 where he was averaging 9 pts and 6 rbs in 20 minutes per game.

He enjoyed a distinguished college career at Saint Mary’s University, where he ranked among the conference’s top-6 in field goal percentage (5th - 58.8), rebounding (6th - 6.7), and blocked shots (4th - 1.4). He was named Most Outstanding Player of the WCC Championships after scoring 12 points and grabbing a career-high 15 rebounds against No.1 Gonzaga.

Hunter expressed his excitement on joining the Seahawks.

“I’m looking forward to getting up to the Gold Coast and joining the team. It’s going to be great to get back on court again,” said Hunter

“After Luke approached me and spoke about what they were building for this year, it was something I knew I wanted to be part of”

Head Coach for the North Gold Coast Seahawks, Luke McGuire, is equally as excited as starting big man.

“I am extremely excited to have Jordan joining us at Seahawks for the upcoming season. Not only is Jordan going to help us on the floor, he is a great guy off the court and will be fantastic for our culture. ,” said McGuire.

“With his size and skill, Jordan allows us to play a number of different ways. I see him having the ability to be the best rim protector in the league whilst being a force offensively.”
