The North Gold Coast Seahawks are thrilled to announce the signing of Matt Kenyon to their NBL1 North Men's team for the upcoming season. Kenyon, currently playing for the South East Melbourne Phoenix, brings a wealth of experience and skill to the Seahawks' roster.

Kenyon started his professional career as a development player at the Brisbane Bullets from 2016-18. He then spent two seasons playing with the Tasmania JackJumpers before making the move to the Phoenix.

He has also spent time in the NBA G-League with the Capitol City Go-Go, the Washington Wizards G-League affiliate.

The 196cm shooting guard, known for his defensive prowess in the NBL, has made a significant impact on the court for the South East Melbourne Phoenix, averaging 5.9 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game. His tenacity and versatility have earned him recognition as an elite defender at the highest level of Australian basketball.

Head Coach Colby Stefanovic expressed his excitement about Kenyon joining the North Gold Coast Seahawks, stating, "Matt's exceptional defensive prowess at the NBL level is truly remarkable, and having him on board for the upcoming season is an absolute coup for our team. His blend of skills, dedication, and leadership qualities embodies everything we cherish in a player, and I am eagerly looking forward to working with him."

Kenyon's addition to the Seahawks' roster is expected to bolster the team's defensive capabilities and contribute significantly to the team’s success.

Kenyon expressed his excitement for the season ahead on the Gold Coast, “I’m really looking forward to getting up to the Gold Coast and getting started with the group.  I think we have a good group of guys that are going to compete fiercely.  That’s an area I plan to really set the tone for the group”

The North Gold Coast Seahawks are eager to see Kenyon in action and are confident that his presence will greatly enhance their prospects for success in the upcoming season.

The Seahawks feature in the NBL1 North season opener taking on the Logan Thunder on Thursday 11th April at Logan.  We hope to see a huge Seahawks crowd there to support the teams.
