Krause re-signs for season NBL1 North 2023

The North Gold Coast Seahawks are pleased to announce that Aiden Krause has re-signed with our NBL1 North Men’s team for 2023.

Krause impressed many with his play and leadership around the group in 2022 which made him a priority to have back again. The now-22-year-old did a little bit of everything in 2022, averaging 15ppg at 55.8% from the field, 3 assists per game along with 6.12 rebounds per game.

His role increased in the back half of the season with an injury to his backcourt teammate Tamuri Wigness. Krause would provide his team with a major boost in offensive output, while dealing with a calf injury of his own, averaging 21ppg over the last 7 games of the season.

Head Coach Luke McGuire had nothing but praise for Krause, “Krausey is such an important player for us on and off the floor. He is everything we want our program to be about. His toughness on the floor sets the standard for us and we are extremely excited to get him back.”

When asked about his decision to return to The Nest in 2023 it was apparent that it was an easy decision, “the community that has been built around the club, as it’s very family like from the staff to the fans so it makes me feel very welcomed.”

“Obviously as well after talking to the coaches, getting a perspective of their goals and plans for next year lined up with mine and it was honestly an easy decision.”

Looking ahead to 2023 and Krause is hoping to stay healthy and is embracing his utility-man role, filling in the gaps wherever coach McGuire needs him.

“Success for myself is just to stay healthy, and I’m just happy to play my role to the best of my ability and make whatever pieces that are around me better.”

“The main goal is to bring a championship, but if everyone can stay healthy and we can get to play with our full squad every game, I feel as though we will be taking a step in the right direction as a club and the rewards will come from that.”
