Kendell Heremaia Joins North Gold Coast Seahawks NBL1 Women's Team

North Gold Coast Seahawks are thrilled to announce the signing of Kendell Heremaia to our NBL1 Women's team for the upcoming 2024 season.

Kendell brings a wealth of experience and talent to our roster, having showcased her skills with distinction during her time with the Sunshine Coast Phoenix in 2023. Her performances were nothing short of spectacular, with notable highlights including a season-high of 30 points, accompanied by 7 rebounds and 3 assists against Rockhampton on April 23rd. Additionally, she demonstrated her versatility and all-around excellence with an impressive triple-double against Gold Coast on April 16th, amassing 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Head Coach Caddie Jeffries expressed her excitement about the acquisition, stating, "Having someone of Kendell’s experience sign with us at Seahawks is a huge coup for the club. Kendell has had a hugely successful college career, a successful professional career as well as representing New Zealand in both 3x3 and 5 on 5 basketball. She is a versatile, strong scorer with the ability to play almost every position on the floor and will be a huge part of our success this season. I’m very excited that Kendell has agreed to come onboard with us for 2024!"

Heremaia explained her decision to make the move from the Sunshine Coast to the Seahawks for 2024, “I decided to go with Seahawks, it was thanks to their interest, and with word from Caddie, it will be another great experience to take up.”

“I was excited to be involved, alongside other talented ballers too. Plus my family are only just down the road this time”

With her remarkable performances and undeniable talent, Kendell is poised to elevate the North Gold Coast Seahawks to new heights. We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome her to the team.

Join us in extending a warm welcome to Kendell Heremaia as she embarks on this exciting new chapter with the North Gold Coast Seahawks!
