The North Gold Coast Seahawks are pleased to announce that Emma Gandini has signed with our NBL1 North Women’s team for 2023.
Gandini joins us as an NBL1 West Defensive Player of the Year from the western conference who averages 4 steals per game, along with 13.71 points, 3 assists and 6.07 rebounds.
Currently playing for Perth Lynx in the WNBL, Gandini brings a wealth of knowledge & experience. She will be a crucial player for the Seahawks both on and off the court.
Head Coach Bradley Kann said,
“ Emma will not only provide us maturity and organisation at the offensive end but is known in the WNBL for her elite level defence. We are looking forward to having her lead our group with her defensive prowess.”
When asked about her decision to come to the Seahawks, she said,
“I’ve had an incredible few years playing for my junior club in the NBL1 West, where I’ve got to play with lifelong friends and win two championships.
I’m excited to try something new in my basketball career and play in the highly competitive North competition, which has so many players of an incredibly high calibre.
I spent some time in Queensland whilst in a hub during the 2021/22 WNBL season and instantly fell in love with the lifestyle.
I can’t wait to make Gold Coast home in 2023.”
