QSL Women’s Head Coach Announcement – Bradley Kann

In a change of scenery for this year’s QSL season, North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball are proud to announce that Bradley Kann has accepted the role of Head Coach of the SmartSkill Seahawks Women’s team for season 2021.

Kann takes over the Head Coaching role from Paula Jansen, who has decided to take a break from coaching responsibilities to spend more time with her family.

“Paula did an outstanding job last year,” said Kann.

“Just like the rest of us, 2020 was a year that was hard to plan and navigate around and I thought Paula and her assistant Matt Reece did a great job with the team.

Kann took the reins of the Men’s team last year after spending the past 2 years in Tasmania as a State Development Officer.

“It was my first real opportunity to step into the Senior side of Basketball and Head Coach against semi-professional and professional athletes”

“That was also after freshly stepping off the plane from Tasmania and jumping into training the week of our first game”

Juggling his role of Director of Basketball for the Seahawks, Kann is excited to get to work.

“To be able to have a full pre-season with the Women’s side this year will be massively beneficial to the players and to the overall program”

When asked what his overall goal for the program is, Kann answered pretty swiftly.

“To win championships”

“We want to create a culture and a program that the expectation every year is to win. Our goal as an association is to be a part of the NBL1 in the near future, so for us to attract players, attract sponsors and to create a clear pathway for our up-and-coming juniors, we need to have a winning program”

Trials for the QSL Men’s and Women’s teams will be announced shortly.
