We’re excited to officially kick off our NBL1 North 2026 signings with the homecoming of a true Seahawks junior—Katie Deeble. A dynamic point guard with an impressive résumé, Katie returns to the Nest ready to elevate our women’s program as we re-enter the league.
Katie’s basketball journey has taken her from the Gold Coast to the United States and now onto the national stage. After developing through the Seahawks junior pathway, she competed at Wake Forest University in the highly respected ACC conference, before returning home to play professionally in the WNBL with the Canberra Capitals, where she continues to grow as one of Australia’s emerging guards.
Now, she brings that experience—and her competitive edge—back to the club where it all began.
“It feels great to have signed with Seahawks. I'm super excited for the season and I cannot wait to get started,” Katie said.
Head Coach Brayden Heslehurst couldn’t be happier with the signing, calling Katie his number one target throughout the recruitment process.
“Katie is a WNBL talent who we can really build something special around going forward. It’s huge to have her back at the club,” he said.
Katie’s return is a major statement as the Seahawks prepare for a big NBL1 North campaign in 2026. With her leadership, elite playmaking, and top-level experience, she is set to play a central role in reshaping the identity of the women’s program.
And this is just the start.
Stay tuned—more player signings will be announced in the coming weeks as we continue building a roster ready to compete at the highest level.
