The return of Senior Basketball is returning to the Nest in 2021, with the Queensland State League season tipping off the first home game at the Nest on Saturday May 29th.
The official season for the Men’s and Women’s Division 1 squads will commence Saturday May 15th vs Brisbane Capitals at Auchenflower, with our first Home game being against our northern neighbour in the Logan Thunder.
After reduced crowd capacities in 2020 due to COVID restrictions, season 2021 will see the return of full capacity crowds at the Nest! Over the next few weeks, be sure to keep an eye out for ticket sales to go out online.
General Manager for the North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball Association, Dwayne Vale, is looking forward to the return of crowds and Basketball to the Nest in 2021.
“With the work we have done with securing existing and new sponsors, I’m excited that we are going to be able to put on an exciting game night again” said Vale.
“Last season was challenging from all perspectives, from managing crowd numbers to COVID restrictions, to putting teams together last minute to be a part of the competition – I can tell you this season will be a lot more exciting”
“We have extremely capable Head Coaches in Brad Kann and Jordan Mullan for our QSL Division 1 teams, along with Marko Savic who will be heading up our QSL Division 2 Men’s team. The work they have done to recruit high level players and support casts, Seahawk Nation should be excited about what is going to be on the floor this season”
